Craig's list ad--Read it closely folks... a good one.

AN ACTUAL CRAIG'S LIST PERSONALS AD

To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.
Date: 11-11-2011, 1:43 am. E.S.T.
I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled
the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.
First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when
I drew my pistol after you took my jacket.. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason.. my girlfriend was happy that I just returned safely from my 2nd tour as a Combat Marine in Afghanistan .. She had just bought me that Kimber
Custom Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't

it?!< /P>
I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with crap in your pants. I'm sure it
was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].
After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of
what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 153 gallons and was extremely grateful!
I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That
made his day!]
I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb ..... after I broke the
windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.
Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning
President Obama as my possible target.
The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).
;In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution
is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path
you've chosen to pursue in life.. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky. Have a good day!
Thoughtfully yours, Semper fi,
Alex

@OP
Ok that story is hilarious.

@Discussion
I've never owned an M1911 but I have a large WWII gun collection here in the US... Here's a funny story for you related to firearms...

I was up in Maine for a WWII re-enactment/event once. After the event, Me and some of the guys in my unit decided to go to the local bear hunting event up in the woods in the next town over. Bad idea - I didn't know at the time how seriously underpowered the 8mm Nanbu I had was, especially against a bear, and several rounds later I was staring down a very angry creature.

My buddy, Okamoto, ended up shooting him with the Arisaka. I don't know if we killed it or not but we both jumped in the truck and got the heck outta there after that.

Later I was informed that I should have been using much bigger round or something to that effect. A few of the other hunters were using a .50 cal rifle called a "Grizzly". Figures. =.=

I never went hunting again after that. If I ever do go hunting in the future, though, I'm taking a minigun, just in case. XD

I do tactical shooting with .45ACP. During practice at the range, there were 4 of us shooting when we noticed something that did not sound right. Kind of like what you see in a movie, four guys leaning back to look down the firing line to see what was going on. Now I stand 6'1" and weight about 210lbs, there is this guy, taller and heavier than me shooting this revolver that, standing behind the shooter, was like getting slapped in the face everytime he fired. He was the rep for Smith and Wesson.

He was there shooting a couple of the S&W  500 models. He allowed us each to fire off 5 rounds. Now I know how to shoot. Standing inside the concussion zone of this gun did not produce the slap in the face situation that occurs when behind the gun, but the recoil through your upper body was very impressive. 5 rounds was all I really wanted to shoot. Afterwards, at the pub next door, I asked him who would want to carry the 4" version ( we were shooting the 6 1/2" and 8 1/4" barrel)? He stated that service people carry them, those park rangers working in the woods where there are bears. Decades ago when I use to hunt bear, I carried a either a Winchester .270 or a Browning .308 ( depending on which one dad wanted to carry at the time) and a sidearm, which was a S&W 6" model 629. Use to carry a 686 with a 6" but had a round bounce off the skull of a bear that I had tried to finish off with the handgun. That convinced me that dad was right, I needed a bigger gun.

Not sure if I would want to take my Arisaka out shooting, that is a nice gun to potentially mess up in the woods.

Friday my dad (im only 16) will be purchasing a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm for a practical shooting competition (USPSA)

Both him and myself have tested a number of guns (glocks, M&Ps, XDMs) and we felt the M&P was best for us because it was reliable, accurate, good rate of fire, good grip with a 17+1 magazine.

I've always supported the 2nd amendment. It seperates us from other countries. Citizens should have to right to purchase firearms for their household or recreational. Now its the 2nd amendment that cause things like Colombine and Aurora shootings. And I'm sadened that people who go crazy with firearms obtain them. I took the safety course for USPSA for more than just being able to compete. Helped me learn more about what to do with a firearm. How to hold it properly (trust me I dont hold it sideways like New York street gangs do), how to be more accurate with stronghand/weakhand only.

Those courses help you more than just be safe. And I think that those need to be on a person's file before they're legally able to purchase a fire arm.

The M&P is a good gun, we have several guys who started out with Glocks ( world's most unattractive hand gun) that have switched to the M&P. I think you will find it a very good work gun and you can build off of the platform. We have a several guys that use it for their primary competition gun.

agreed. I think the Glocks are really being replaced by the M&Ps.

And you're not the only person to say it is their primary competition gun. It has been recommended by pretty much everyone I talk to.

I take it you're either someone who hates basic human rights and wants to do away with the second amendment, or you had a bad experience with a pistol or a rifle because they were misused because the person who had it didn't realize that what he held was extremly dangerous if you don't know the basic safety rules for using it, like, DON'T EVER POINT IT AT SOMEONE EVER UNLESS YOU WANT TO SHOOT THEM?

Nope. I'm a gun owner who doesn't like how seemingly every other gun owner is an insane libertarian with weird freeman-on-the-land fantasies about taking everything into their own hands.

Is there anything fundamentally wrong with having a gun in your house? No. It's even okay to think you could use it for home defense. Even concealed carry is fine, it's just your silly dreams. Having a gun on you almost certainly isn't going to save your life/wallet/whatever. If anything you'll unintentionally put yourself in more danger.

Thinking gun ownership is a "basic human right"? Ahahaha funny joke, but seriously.

all 500s are wrist breakers. theyre huge guns.

i dont think you would need a 500 though. maybe to scare the burglar off. but a bit excessive for home defense.

im pretty sure there are only a few things that will make the life flash before an intruders eyes upon entering a home described like this one

1. the growling from the big ass dog, who's warning signs you stepped in while coming to the back door didnt tip you off.

2. the cowboy decor throughout the front room, with an erilie odd focus on large caliber firearms

3. now understanding why the owner keeps a nite lite on in the living room and complete darkness in the hallway to the bedroom where he sleeps

4. hearing the bedroom door open..... with the growling getting closer!!

5. the sound of a shell being chambered into a colt 1911

sillyness set aside, most all gun owners are responsible and did not just buy a gun for the first time on a whim. just about anyone that carries a firearm, have grown up with them, and more than likely more training/practice with firearms than most law enforcement.

@limbaugh

gun safety starts with 1 basic principle, be prepared to kill what you aim at. a gun is not a toy or a weapon, it is a tool... repspect it as such.

i dont carry a firearm... currently, all though that may change in the near future. the ability to carry has nothing to do with a 2nd amendment right, it has to do with not being a statistic.... period.

oh and cops dont carry guns to protect you as a citizen, they carry to protect themselves.

im not going to get into the reasons why or why not carry thats the choice of one person to the next, but the simple fact is... if more people carried, there would be less person on person crime. im not saying it would be eliminated, but more than likely halved. because hey, its not like the criminals are carrying their gun legally or anything, so if anythig, lets even the playing field.

you would be surprised how much crime falls in a community where 1 in 3 carries and 1in 2 homes has a firearm at the ready.

so please stop being naive about gun ownership and carrying, 99% of the people carrying are well trained, well informed, do not break laws, gun owners. the perfect example of this is the first story in this thread. An untrained criminal, who has a gun to exert power and force is more likely to get hurt by his own stupidity than i am for drawing my own or taking his away and beating him with it for being the idiot that he is.
