Just came out of a sortie where 8 of the BB at the start were not carrying scouts. This does not include a Nelson. And not one of the AA whore no talent leeching Moltkes was carrying a scout. No wonder the games just suck so much.

And as Rehor has mentioned, back in the glory days of Beta, those of us who had played for a while would help the new people, give them lessons, help them on ship set up.
Now, you give an in game suggestion or give a battle order and you get flamed. They have lvled up so fast they have no idea that they have no idea as to how to play.
How can you lead by example when the poor player base has no intention of listening.

How do you give this advice? Do you just blurt out your wisdom in game? Have you whispered individuals with the offer of advice, and let them decide if they want it?

There are a lot of internet warriors out there that get their hackles raised very quickly, if you embarrass them in public.

Back in the Glory Days of Beta there was a lot of in game chatter with regards to tactics, ship position, fleet manouvers attack strategy......
Now ,there almost zero team cooperation. I will routinely scout out the flag position and give out those coordinates, might as well be talking to a brick wall, no one seems to understand that attacking the enemy flag is the goal
I will use team speak to communicate with the team. If I am the ranking CV I will give out assignments based on who I am running with and who is on the opposing side. Sometimes I can find a GDB graduate and roll fighters out in front of his BB and move across the battlefield. If I see a player that is having a problem, in controlling a feature or understanding what they need to be doing I will IM them and take them to a practice room to help them out.
But there just seems to be whole lot more players like waveknight that just seem to think that they are gift to the game and will not listen or cooperate at all.

Rehor
I whisper to CV's that "launching planes helps" and I get reported.

So **** them.

That no one needed to scout because everyone had scouts?
Is that what you mean about being official?
Sure is a lame excuse, now they have progressed from carrying them and not using them to not carrying them at all.
There has been talk about making it so that ships of a certain size have to carry scouts to leave the harbor, but like the horse, you can make them carrying it, but you can not make them use it.
Now if we could go back to the GDB where one was rewarded for the number and class of ship that you attacker, actual award for doing battle as opposed to leeching, perhaps that might help.
Give people credit for the act of scouting, attacking other ships and obtaining attack. Now with the shared exp, there is no incentive to do anything other than run an AA platform and leech.

None of this is new. These issues have existed since shared exp was introduced. Everyone knows they exist. People are stupid and don't scout. That's not a revelation. The whole "Make ships have a scout or they can't leave port" idea was brought up (and shot down) way the hell back in ONF1..

The screenshot I posted was taken in like 2007. Yeah. It's been a problem for that long.
