Could someone explain to me why it would take me 19 times to restart the game after I crashed out while entering a room? 19 times the game doesn't load and 19 times it forces me to download a 43KB file.

I have played this game religiously for years and I've spent entirely too much money on this game. I'm forced to ask, what are you people doing with the money? Burning it? I can play half a dozen computer games for hours upon hours and never have a problem. With NavyField, I can't spend an hour in-game without crashing out multiple times.

I would love to hear Vick give us an update on his crashing survey that he had a couple weeks ago. Is anyone working on game stability or was that just to make everybody happy that people were listening to our problems?

Well Ive been playing this game on and off for years and its funny because im still seeing the same type of crashes and bugs since 2006. The freezes mid battle, the bug where the screen gets messed up when trying to zoom out, the bug where your ship gets stuck loading, alt tabbing, and just the straight up crashes and instability. All on multiple computers that are waay better then the minimum requirements needed to run this game.

I really hope they are finally trying to optimize the client stability because I shake my head in disgust sometimes on the amount of crashes. I really enjoy this game but the instability is constant.

I think this game has a great community and I really do think the mods are trying there best but its been soo long with the same bugs that seems like there never going to get fixed. Its like the devs just don't care. I mean we cant even run the game in windowed mode or change the resolution so it actually looks decent. Its 2011 guys

I checked. That's what usually causes it...another instance of NF running. There was nothing there, though.

Most of my NF boot failures I've tied down to another process locking the soundcard. (winamp for me)...

NF doesnt like no soundcard being available.

Did you check for multiple instances of HS running?

Well, it's true that instability is an issue with this game , but I've never - NEVER - had to start the game more than twice :) ;) ;)

I wonder how much depends on specs, cause for me it's one or two crashes per day. Not that it's good - I've played games that don't crash at all and that's the way it should be.

Incorrect. XP is just as susceptable to these faults, as is Win98, ME, CE, etc (I have copies of all and tried them as well, just for fun).

And please, DO NOT tell me it's MY hardware. I will be forced to laugh at all idiots that try to claim that an Intel Core i7 with 4 gb RAM running at 1.3 MHtz bus speeds can't run a program as old as navyFAIL. I can run Freelancer (comparable in age) with zero problems and zero lag, and that's to a server that's in someone's basement, not a (supposedly) professional hosting company server.

So, $DE needs more than 5.5 years to sort out stability issues? Sounds like we've got another Duke Nuke 'Em developer over here. Do keep in mind what happened in that case.

I'm not telling you it's your hardware. I'm telling you I don't have this problem. I mean, from time to time I have to start the game twice but that's just about it. The game's name is Navyfield by the way ;P

If you have restarted the game 19 times you should stop playing the game.
