The idea has some merit. One could leave the partially fueled and arm planes setting on the flight deck....and the tradeoff being, as in real life, very dangerous if the flight deck took a hit. Flames and explosions followed that could cripple a CV.
From a game programming standpoint, it would be easier to dump the planes overboard. The cancel button eliminates the partially fueled planes.
Instead of a flat cancel button, you could make the fueling meter go backwards as you unload the fuel from the planes and start over. That way you don't lose the planes, but you are penalized for fueling in error. We've all loaded too few or too many planes on one pilot and want to start over, this would help, yet still provide incentive and penalty to CV players.
