  • Border Humping is not a problem in Navyfield.

As our CV was launching a wave of bombers and putting them onto the border, the enemy CV
was bringing his bombers OFF the border at the same time to bomb him.

Very nice summation of the level that NF is now at.

Please, tell me what you think?

Urgh, I hate people who win twice in 1 thread >.>

Curse your DJDeath.

On Topic, is it possible to get an informed TNF opinion on this please? I really think
that this is a genuine problem that needs to be fixed in some way...

We have a number of options presented so far:

-AAW on border kills planes.
-Planes drop bombs as soon as they are not visible on the screen anymore.

Self-quote:

"Seriously, I think the possibility to borderhump planes should stay, as it makes spotting
the scum of NF much easier."

Turns out, it works just as good on the forums, as in the actual game.

I need to make a new acct, transfer some bombers over and just stalk tnf members and use the borders to
kill them over and over again, then when I inevitably get warned/banned I can point to this thtead an say I
was border hugging, not humping, which is perfectly fine according to the 'officia' opinion in here...

"Also you said in accordance with "my" event rules, not sde. I hope you are handicappin
bbs in some way just like you are limiting cvs"

Oh my god.

If it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, yes... BBs can't use T5 scouts. That is a pretty big
handicap. But either way, yes. It is a player run event with help and some prizes from SDE
(TNF and GMs). The events are optional and thus these rules are as well.

If you want to start a Event that features only MN DBs, SS4s and SN BBs you can just use
your Mod Chat and organize one. Don't like the rules that players are making for a player
made event because they are more stringent than the SDE global server rules? Don't play.

@ Rhada

One simple question for a TNF member like yourself. IF planes being off the map while
their shadows are still on the map isn't an exploit, then WHY would SDE code in that those
planes lose any sight until the plane becomes visible again? IF the shadow as part of the
actual sprite and moving your planes like this wasn't an exploit, there would be no reason
for that to be implemented.

The DOWNSIDE to this minor patch to reduce border exploiting with planes is that bombers
don't need to see the border that they are flying over 9 out of 10 times because the map
is NWO and no ship can hide on the border...

Honestly, if you are lacking the common sense to realize that the planes in the OP picture
are coming off of the border after border humping/going to the border TO border hump (from
left to right respectively), then maybe you should put in your resignation because of your
extremely poor demeanor towards the players in this game that have valid points and have
told you time and time again what is happening in this picture...

When I am in an AA ship, one of the most annoying things in the game is a CV that actually
knows how to control planes. With effort they can get past me without losing more than 1
or 2 planes.

Learn to play or quit. Don't exploit.

"Not defending border humping. Was letting you know this is not border humping. If you are
going to accuse
somebody of border humping catch them doing it. This is border hugging. Define by the fact
the plane's
shadows are clearly visiable.

So far you have only proven ignorance on the definition. "

So when i BW when i finally get enough bombers, i can just call it border hugging and its
perfectly legal?

and how is anyone suppose to catch anyone "border humping" (according to you) when in
doing so the planes and their shadow will be completely off the map, meaning they cant see
them. how are you suppose to screen shot that at all/

ludaka, your argument is pure BS, sorry. You don't need to exploit the graphical
limitations of the game engine to bomb people or scout. If you don't want your planes
being AA'd tell the BBs or subs to go after the enemy AA ships. It's a team-based game
after all. The point of AA is to shoot down planes, with effort you can dodge AA. If
you're expecting to get to your target every time then you need to lower your
expectations. It's not a
convenient excuse for people to play unfairly.

Just to clarify for those of you who are having trouble comprehending:

Whether not very obvious:

Or even less obvious:

Or completely off the map:

These are ALL border humping. Please don't get confused.
