  • Exp Bonus for Successful Scouting

- For every ship in a plane or ships sight range, you gain X amount of exp per X
second(s)

Would require a big coding change, but imo would be a fantastic change to the game if
implemented.

An example would be, say 50 exp per ship every 10 seconds.

Obviously the exp amounts would have to be balanced, it would be far better than
slapping a rule in. If that means lowering general exp, and having this, then so be it.

Edit: Forgot the change about all types of planes.

Not rec. for reasons listed above by other insightful posters....but also because this
is not going to miraculously make people use teamwork.

What will happen is one CV will be able to provide proper FC and all the scouts from
your team will flock to that ship in order to gain their bonuses, leaving critical areas
blind.

Yes, I know....the "smart" players won't do this, but this suggestion isn't targetting
those people anyways.....

Right intent, flawed idea.

torion had a completely valid arguement. He was saying that scouting often helps BB's
target their enemy, which is a bonus in itself. That kills the thread right there.

Kaputt put it best. If CV's stop doing what BB's expect, most would assume that BB's
would assume BB's would start loading more scouts and using them.

If this was implemented, this should only be implemented for ships below BB (CA and
below) to encourage teamwork. BB's need to scout for themselves, its not teamwork.
CA/CL's don't need to scout, but for those that can, it contributes to teamwork, but it
would be better if shared XP was then fixed (as in, use heavy multipliers for lower
crews and ships), but thats a different thread.

Kaputt, you have not only made my day, but have also said something that i think
every BB driver who does not carry a scout (excluding nellys (except the ones who
only play nelly so they dont have to scout... there are a few)) should read and
understand.

Worthless Lj you only get 6k exp for having a scout from the word "Go" to the end of the
match. And you can only keep your scout over them for half that time... So 3k exp when you
can get 60k, for playing the game as you normally would. Big whoopie? And no it shouldn't
be applied to CVs since the CV's job isn't to scout. Worthless BB's, is what your trying
to motivate if I've gathered anything from this post. So if you want scouts up, CVs need
to stop sending fighters, and send bombers. BBs will start to know what scouting is when
he is blinder then a bat.

Free Exp isn't an insentive.

CVs Need to rise up and take this game back from the battleship. Our Constant vigilence
has made them slack and weak. And the only way we will get what we want is if we play as
we want. All this talk of a lack of interest in CVs is because things are expected from
CVs, that needs to stop. Players need new standards, and relienance on CVs scouting for
you is not a good standard. Our exp, or game is not dependent on whether you have vision.
We will get good exp anyway, because were CVs. Your constant whining has made us that way.
And now anyone who isn't scouting with fighters sucks. I swear the nerve. Any CV can play
a game where they can sink more battleships then any person on their team, and not send a
single fighter out. So would there be a lack of vision? Hell yes there will be, because
battleships have trained themselves to need fighters. So who really sucks?

Harbor Assault's is what this game is about for me. Thats the only place that I've ever
seen coordinated team work, and thats the only thing this game lacks now. The ability to
play with friends in a GB2. CVs in a Harbor Assault cant possibly make a difference
against the giants in BB6's and the shear numbers of BBs in those fights, But when you can
kill five of a ten man enemy team in a GB2. Why care what the battleships want? Your a god
among tiny men.

what he's saying is, you get a reworded for doing what you are supposed to....wich
includes scouting...

team play in NF is dead and it needs a NUDGE in that direction...it all so shouled
reword ppl for not beeing total retards...aka BB6 with no scout LOL!!!!

suggestion is good, and exp ammount wouled be small but still ther...
thus it wouled work..and it's a good thing.

You are saying you shouldn't get experience for things you should do anyway.

So why should we get experience for:

- Staying alive as a flagship

- Shooting down planes

- Shooting ships

- Winning a battle

You point is mute. You should get experience points for doing positive things in battle.
Otherwise, what is the point of exp?

you almost should include all planes since after they are done with thier bomb or
torp runs they can stay behind and scout for the bb,s

By that logic, just give everyone 100k exp for playing a room, no matter what they do! Nuff
said!

I didn't say don't load a scout. I simply said you shouldn't be rewarded just for doing
what you're supposed to and doing better because of it. The reward for having a
scout is you and your team doing more damage because they can see what they're
shooting at. If we're gonna start adding experience bonuses let's have a n"I'm
sailing in the right direction," bonus and an "Hey look at me. I loaded both HE and
AP," bonus and wait..."An I'm using teamchat to help other people," bonus. No.
Scouts are your responsibility and I was simply stating that if someone isn't using
one they're hurting the team and need to belittled. You don't get bonuses for doing
what you're supposed to. 'Nuff said.

Its called Rewarding Teamplay. If you advocate not running a scout, then you clearly don't
know how to play Navyfield.
