  • Rebuilding Experience System

Formerly a suggestion I made almost a year ago, just found it earlier and decided to
remodel/fix it a bit. Before you type a respond/flame, please, for your own sake, read all
my posts in this topic and every idea before you make a fool out of yourself.

Currently, high level players suffer massive experience and weight penalty for driving a
lower level ship, so they simply don't go into one unless training new crews. Low level
players, more often than not, are inexperienced and are incapable of performing their job.
Result? BBs and CVs doing majority of the work, while anything smaller just goofs around.
Even then, some of those BBs/CVs might just be leeching experience; rushing and dying on
purpose. So what is my proposal?

Scrapping the old experience system and making a new one, and allowing higher level
players to use lower level ships with less penalty:

New experience equation - [Personal Performance] X [Team Performance] X
[Sailor level] = [Experience]

Summary of the basics will be below, benefits in my second post, and a more detailed
explanation will be in my third post (so this won't be a super long post that annoys
repliers). See fifth post for example of experience from game play.

Basic Summaries

1. New Experience System

In the new system, you will gain experience according to your personal actions measured in
"attack worth" (pretty much everything from AAing, HH/DC/torping/shooting ships/subs,
bombing/fighter covering contributes to it), your team action (attack/tactic and win/lose)
and the level of your sailor. Your ship level does not matter anymore.

[Personal action] times [Team action] times [Sailor Level] = Experience

(Please note this is the base experience towards a normal sailor (support sailor, for
example), bonus experience (such as 40% bonus for BO or the 120% in GB, for example) will
be applied afterward.)

2. Attack Worth System

If you attack a ship same or lower class than your own, your "attack worth" is the same as
your attack. However, if you attack a ship higher class than your own, your resulting
attack is multiplied by a number (1.5 for example), which is then counted toward as
"attack worth".

3. Heavier TK Penalty

If you deal damage to any ally, that attack will receive a x3 (could be increased or
decreased) multiplier, then subtracted towards your "attack worth", greatly decreasing the
experience you might get.

4. Weight Reduction System

All ships, except BBs and CVs, will only take a fraction of your sailor's weight
(more/less according to the ship class, of course), allowing higher level players to hop
back in smaller ships and play it as primary.

@Kogard

I believe I said GB, not GB2/Blitz. I am aware that GB2 and Blitz give out less credit. As
far as I know, the chances of a BB5/CV5s getting 0 attack/aircraft shoot down is less than
probably 1/100 battles, and only in the hands of an inexperienced player. Those other 99
battles would easy cover up the credit he/she lost for that "accidental" 0 attack battle.

To be honest, I really don't see why you're stressing over so little credit. If you did
not catch me earlier, a CV5 can make 120k credit in an average game.

"But in Blitz the difference with a player using crew the same lv with their DD/CL will be
huge in ability. As ppl before me said, it will deter new player to play this game."

So you rather have a BB6 or BB5 one shot you before you can even get in range, instead of
having a significantly bigger fighting chance, of at least being able to get in range and
return 15 or so salvos? Are you also forgetting that the newer player get the advantage of
the smaller crew still (which would be pretty much weightless after the weight reduction
system)? That means they can mount more armor than a level 60 or level 90 player,
hopefully enough to be able to bounce shells of their own caliber, and they should take
advantage of that.

"As far as I know, I earn more credit than I need for repair even if I sink doing 0 attack
in GB. You get credits either way regardless, so I really don't understand your point. "

This is where u're wrong, in Blitz/GB2 using my Scharn now, if I get 0 dmg(not even kill
planes using AA), the credits gain will not cover my sunk repair cost.

Penalty? There are plenty. For one, they lose let's say x6 support slots to fit their crew
on the smaller ship. That's x6 sailor they could be leveling. In a sense, they lose out a
lot more experience than you think.

But if this new system implemented, u'll lose nothing(not even credits) but still
gain(wanted) the exact/better exp when u ride a much lower class ship.

And being cheap is not bad either, I had problem earning credits for my 1st Hippy.
Im sure u guys having the same problem for ur BB6.

But gaining everthing(high ability and exp)in lower class ship with no penalty or
whatsoever, I'm sry, it's not fair for me.

Edit; Add example about exploitation in ur system.
BC/BB1 user are easily died in GB room, with ur systems they will likely to use DD/CL to
play, In GB1/2 it maybe not much significant problem. But in Blitz the difference with a
player using crew the same lv with their DD/CL will be huge in ability. As ppl before me
said, it will deter new player to play this game.

The worst is, they(BC/BB1 crew player) will play more in DD/CL coz it doesn't have repair
cost and still give them exactly/better exp bcoz of the high level of their crew, but with
the advantage agility in a DD.

Ur main reason to suggest this system is becoz u're tired of new/inexperience players in
GB, but ur suggestion is deter them to play anymore, and worse they will not learn
anything at GB as support ship if u don't give them chance to practice trial and error.

@minertheron

About 3k if you only hit CL/DDs. I think it's less than what you'd get in GB/blitz right
now since you are barely covering your own weight. I'd recommend you to go back to L class
to abuse the multiplier better though, and/or try to go for AA/ASW instead if you can't
utilize your guns to the max.

@whitewizard

You're not landing 1 attack in your DDX or your crew is way below/above the level of DDX,
that's why you get like 70% reduction.

@Kogard

Woah woah, wait, let me get this straight. You are trying to be cheap and save about 5-6k
credit repair cost per game, when a CL earns about 15k credit per game whereas a BB5 earns
possibly 20-30k per game/a CV5 earns 40-120k? In the end, a BB/CV will still earn more
than what a CL earns after covering their repair cost. Really, I fail to see the logic
behind your so-called exploits, maybe you'll enlighten me more?

So let me get this;
U can fit ur BB5 crew in a CL/DD and gain exp exactly/better(if u and ur team perform
good) becoz ur crew is lv105(or above). But u don't pay repair if u get sunk.

I personally consider this an abuse. And I believe ppl will exploit this system.

Otherwise, if u can fit crews in a ship that, say 50 level below, u'd pay, say 3x the
repairing cost of ur BB5 if u're in a lower lv ship(50 lv is just an example), I don't
mind at all being food for ur crew in all games.

Finally for the first time over what 3 year maybe more there is a good suggestion to
balance all the game and make the game more interesting for new player, because i know it
but im sure of the HALF or the 3/4 of new player stop playing because they get so low exp
rate... and me lol ill be incredibly happy to be able to fit a H44 crew in my dam nassau
P__P, because like nassau is a lesser battleship the sailor will loose weight :D

ten thousand thumps up for that post, reccomand btw

I really dam hope of SDE will do it, i dont care if that could take time, but do it!
(because how many suggested post with many recommand have been done yet? )

im gonna cry lol finally someone comes up with a good exp system that wipes the ground
with all others but what are the benefits to lower level ships when i am training up
scratch crews like i am now on the at lvl ships for them i make 10-25k avg a game in blitz
in my edinbergh what would xp be? lvl 40 sailors do it for 15k attack
