  • Nerf HH's

Hedgehogs are currently overpowered.
A few points:

- Surface damage
- Can be mounted on almost every ship
- Countdown time

Surface damage:

- A FF can now just kill/badly damage a CL. Just because of these PHH's.
- I see PCA's rushing in with 55-60 KNT, pop smoke, and fire 2 salvos on BB4-5 with results: Sinking bb4-5.

Can be mounted on  almost every ship:

- It can really be mounted on (almost) every ship
- The requirements, level 12. So youre level 12, and mount PHH, and just go kill any ship up to CA. 

Countdown time:

- When playing sub you can easily avoid HH when they are in the air, but what? Subs cross BB's and use rear torps. Kaboom HH fired. You go to critical, BUT THERES NO TIME! HH have a countdown of 2 seconds, including the time in the  air (if your at angle 10-5) you have 3 sec for Critical dive. Go try out, play a sub, and search ASW, try to go to critical dive, but your in critical dive, you still die of those HH.



My idea for:

- Surface damage

*Nerf it from 7.20 Calibre to 4 or 5.
 
- Can mount on almost every ship:

* Improve the Required space a little, so FF's can't mount it (but DD's can)
* Improve the required space for PHH a little, 0.1 is a little too much. do 0.5 or something.

- Countdown time:

* Increase countdown time to 3-4 seconds. It is currently UNBALANCED for subs.

Subs are slow, but have good torpedo's and with engys they can have bb speed (slow bb then)

But what is there against subs:

- (P)HH doing alot of damage on surface & submerged, with 2 second countdown.
- DC with a nice 6  second countdown, to be honest this is too much and this should be 4-5
- Air: When surfacing they get shoot to hell even WITH smoke (1 Hedgehog shell does 1.000 damage or more)

So:

- Increase the Countdown time of (P)HH a little.
- Let the required space for HH a little increase.
- Nerf the surface damage and MAYBE the submerged damage.


This was my idea, it took me 30 minutes :P

just leve subs and hh alone
for phh it is to fast and hits to hard +its splash range is to big
but a good ss can crit dive them
now for surface damage on hh i have seen hh hit for 2000+ this is way to high
hh is a sub hunting weapon and shud not be useble vs anny surface targets
also if u get rid of the splash on hh or reduce it
so shurd the proxi torps of km get a reduce to or even go away
but leve the endrun detonation there on all torps end get rid of the dud's
then there is no exusse for anny big ship to say i got sunk by proxi becos if u cant out manuver a max range
sud torp u are not paying atention

Yes. I agree.
But even the best subdriver almost can't dodge the enemy PHH when they are close to the target.

I could oppose the fact even a good BB driver cannot dodge the ridiculous splash radiusn of subs torp. Got my nebby sunk by an SS3 that never hit me directly once.

Well, it's logical a nebby should be able to outrun a sub.

Yes. I agree.
But even the best subdriver almost can't dodge the enemy PHH when they are close to the target.


Dont the best sub-driver know how to control the distance between your target (which I believe over 3 degree of HH)??

max rang for shooting a slow torp is 10 degree
a fast one 8
max see range for ss is near 15 degree if i remember correct
hh can be shot way beond 15 and so and ff /dd that knows what its doing can and wil sink ss
if u shoot don't shoot all hh in one go and shoot on gradual fire
even if the sub crit dive's your first shot all u need to do is whait it out
assoon as it needs to pop up befor it runs out of air/displaymend its a sitting duck

now for ss to kill ff/dd the only ss that is anny good is km whith its proxi torps
anny other ss suffer becos of the dud's and there torp's wil run unther the target and nor explode

just nevermind rick he can't play a sub is all. ask him about our ss4(mine) vs his bb he didnt even hit me once with his phh.

So you mount HH on a Moltke/Mandel, run 60 knots and sink BB5s. YES, BB5s being sunk by a Moltke with Hedgehogs.

I saw a Montana with zero damage get toasted by a Moltke after three broadsides of hedgehogs.

HH are the most ridiculous weapon created. They were supposed to be used against subs, but at least half (or more) of all HH explosions are due to surface ship impacts.

I have screenshots of a molkte going 71 KNTS. yes 71. I screened the following thigns

DP on Friendly ship BEFORE HH

big difference, will post pics later gotta go now.
