  • Nerf HH's

Hedgehogs are currently overpowered.
A few points:

- Surface damage
- Can be mounted on almost every ship
- Countdown time

Surface damage:

- A FF can now just kill/badly damage a CL. Just because of these PHH's.
- I see PCA's rushing in with 55-60 KNT, pop smoke, and fire 2 salvos on BB4-5 with results: Sinking bb4-5.

Can be mounted on  almost every ship:

- It can really be mounted on (almost) every ship
- The requirements, level 12. So youre level 12, and mount PHH, and just go kill any ship up to CA. 

Countdown time:

- When playing sub you can easily avoid HH when they are in the air, but what? Subs cross BB's and use rear torps. Kaboom HH fired. You go to critical, BUT THERES NO TIME! HH have a countdown of 2 seconds, including the time in the  air (if your at angle 10-5) you have 3 sec for Critical dive. Go try out, play a sub, and search ASW, try to go to critical dive, but your in critical dive, you still die of those HH.



My idea for:

- Surface damage

*Nerf it from 7.20 Calibre to 4 or 5.
 
- Can mount on almost every ship:

* Improve the Required space a little, so FF's can't mount it (but DD's can)
* Improve the required space for PHH a little, 0.1 is a little too much. do 0.5 or something.

- Countdown time:

* Increase countdown time to 3-4 seconds. It is currently UNBALANCED for subs.

Subs are slow, but have good torpedo's and with engys they can have bb speed (slow bb then)

But what is there against subs:

- (P)HH doing alot of damage on surface & submerged, with 2 second countdown.
- DC with a nice 6  second countdown, to be honest this is too much and this should be 4-5
- Air: When surfacing they get shoot to hell even WITH smoke (1 Hedgehog shell does 1.000 damage or more)

So:

- Increase the Countdown time of (P)HH a little.
- Let the required space for HH a little increase.
- Nerf the surface damage and MAYBE the submerged damage.


This was my idea, it took me 30 minutes :P

Really do think $DE is do that? LOL,why?PHH = money ,NF=/= real in all OP situation or not?
-Cant be mounted in every ship,special big ships
Ships is built for right propose not to be a universal cyborg,Other point is right.

they need a nerf in surface dmg to say the least.

been playing a FF(x) in blitz and i can sink an average of almost 2 ca's a game in my FF

besides nerfing dagame you could also ban them from blitz, no subs there anyways

or just stop dropping the things & give me vet packs instead! :$

Sub gets spotted, people start turning away, sub wins with super splash torps (Considering your first salvo is a surprise, and the first salvo is really all that is needed to get close to the damage to prevent them from using OH)

I only recall 1 major sub nerf, that being the patch to get rid of their super-submergence (MEaning ability to take damage, not going underwater).

Torps haven't been nerfed (The EXP is a problem, though, but that's not a problem related to sub gameplay). Subs actually have been buffed once or twice (Remember the planesman buff?)

You keep bringing up the fact that you can kill BB3-4 with your PCA with PHH when EVERYONE on this thread has agreed that PHH have a ridiculous amount of surface damage.
The point of HH having a low countdown is that usually, they have a long hang time; so unless you're Crit-diving when the HH hit the water, you'll be able to dodge HH. Also, if you're getting within 3 HH angles of the BB, you shouldn't expect being able to dodge anything, ever tried dodging an Monty from 3-5 degrees? Solution: Just crit-dive a second after you fire your first salvo, wait for everyone to fire their HH, and come back up.


Besides, the PHH rampage will only last as long as the events giving them away do.

Look at it this way: Save your phh for when SS5 comes out this summer.

Dont whine about ss5 needing nerf and then run out of phh, save your phh for ss5. =)

Then I suggest nerfing sub torp damage.

The shear # of dmg that an SS torp does is ridiculous, and therefore requires an equally ridiculous counter. As long as the subs remain unchanged, I support the PHHs.


Also, from a business standpoint, it's more beneficial to SDE to keep PHHs the way they are.

Surface Damage: people see how much dmg PHHs can do to surface ships, they want to buy some for themselves to join in on the action

Can be mounted on almost any ship: Increases the # of people buying PHHs

Cooldown time: Lower cooldown time = more PHHs used = more money for SDE.

Arrgh
Recc'd for obvious reasons, hh should never be able to kill a SD class ship in 1 or even 2-3 hits.

It's for ASW, keep it just for that.

In real life, the HH's were introduced by UK, and they were really in the 7inch caliber range. They do have low space requirements and low reload times. However, at some 30-35lbs of TNT/Torpex, the NavyField variant's surface damage is just too much. That much underwater, with a direct hit is sufficient for submarine warfare, yes.. but with armored ships? Cmon.
