I keep winning Ship Tree Resets, which I'll never use, as I plan my crews (and have too many now). I also keep winning HQ expansions that I do not need.
It would be awesome to be able to trade event drops for olives (or other items), so I could get stuff I could actually use.
I still have Ship Tree Resets from events months ago. Please let me do something useful with them!?!??!

Instead of trying to be SDE's CFO, why don't you just say if you'd like to be able to trade premium items in for olives (even at a discount, say 80% of purchase value) or not?
Doesn't even have to be drop-related.
Anyone like that? If you don't want it, say so. If you can come up with excuses why SDE might not do it (and I figure the economics are their side to figure out, not ours), that's just trolling.

Seriously? Players want them to change something because they don't like the free stuff?
Think of Situation A:
Player 1 wants a BO reset because he didn't get one during the event. He is about to go to the NF Store and buy it, when he remembers, he has a ton of mines and HH! Instead of spending the $20, he uses the free items he got, making SDE lose money
Situation B: Same thing, but with premium instead (which would lose them a LOT of money, since premium is bought a lot from what I've seen)
This WOULD lose them money, so I don't see where these arguments are coming from.
To what I think now, not about SDE. I still don't like the suggestion. It's FREE STUFF. If someone gives you something for free, why would you complain and ask for something else? Like I said, it's FREE, you didn't pay a penny. Be happy that you got it, you might need it in the future if you don't now.

You obviously didn't read the last post carefully. Forget about drops specifically (e.g. - the free stuff). I like free stuff. I like it better if it is something I can use, now or in the future. I have 11000 mines, though, that I bought (e.g. SDE already got their money). I will never use them. It was a mistake. So I have no option but to be reminded every time I go into my items list that I am stupid. I would LOVE to be able to trade those 11000 mines back to SDE's olive store, even paying 20% charge for the benefit, to trade them for something else. So yes, I'd love to be able to trade premium items of whatever flavor for olives to get different premium items. Don't give me full value, but allow me to do something. And by the way, giving a player that has 10 HQ expansions an HQ expansion isn't giving him anything at all, currently. Giving me a BO reset isn't giving me anything either, as I'll never use it. Giving me more mines, well...fine...yay, I got more mines...

I completely agree with minecat.
I've just won my second shiptree reset.
Before I started playing,I spent a lot of time decidng which nations to play and which lines I wanted to go.
I then made a note of which BO's I needed.
I also keep this site open,and consult the game guide whenever one of my BO's qualifies for another ship.
So I just don't set them to the wrong ship-making my resets about as useful to me as airconditioning on a motorbike!

HQ Expansion: Honestly i can understand that people DO need them. But the drop rate on these are too high. Theres no incentive to buy more of something you didnt want in the first place.
HH/Mines: Amazing drop rate on these! (Sarcasm) over 70% of the people that play now have 500+ of these. Its causing a lot of pointless ranting. Lower the drop rate a little.
Smoke bombs: These are something people can benefit on. People use them to cover themselves/teammates. Or use tactically. The smoke bomb is the one of the best incentives you get from this event to buy in olives. Increase drop rate?
Vet/Expert packs. Both good. People will buy them regardless. But the vet drop is too high. Personally i have 20 spare vet packs. And i have 3 crews. If everyone has 100 vets on their sailors, and you cant buy more than 100 vets per sailor. Then why would you buy more? Money losy again.
I would like to see like you said a trade idea or at least a drop in drop rate of some of the more. "pointless" premium items.
Recommended.
Uhh, I've played everyday for the entire event for at LEAST 4 hours, I haven't gotten a single BO Reset or HQ Expansion......
