  • What's left for KM??

This is kinda a whine thread, but also a general question for everyone.
I put this here, because at first hand, there are fewer and fewer KM players every
day along with IJN, so, how do you foresee the KM/IJN future?

There is nothing special left for those nations in the big picture, at least on the BBs
line. SS and CVs are a complete different issue and they maybe competitive yet,
"""""maybe"""".

IJN still has torps, but nobody wins a GB/HA/whatever if it's not a kitta parade with
torps.
KM still has speed, so you can run away from the battle, which seems to be the only
use right now with the first glance of the new SN BB4&5, and still there is the BB6 to
be seen.

No armor, cottonballs firepower, range is slightly higher than the rest but the minimal
difference is compensated with the position of the most common BB5 guns
placement, you have to expose the complete transversal line for a good slingshot on
an H44, with catastrophic results due the lack of any armor.

I'm the onlyone thinking on this? I'm missing something? Consider all aspects, maybe
I'm too short to see the hidden KM potential, but so far I stand that there is
something wrong here.

I would not say a H39 with trips is useless - I think it is a do-or-die setup that might
work in a GB environment. If your enemy is blind and you have sight, I assume it can
lead to lots of lulz. But I would rather use O2 if I wanted to use trips.

I believe the main reason for people using the trips on H39 may be the fact that the
spread on both the H39 and H44 is really lacking with gunners below lvl 110. It was
really hard to play H39 in GB with bad spread.

I respectfully disagree.

If you're in a situation where you're both in firing range (it happens often late in GBII's
due to bad fc) it's killed or be killed. At least a h39 with trips has a chance at sinking a
bb5/6. A h39 with 16's would be whacking at a bb6 all day. And that's paper fact. They
reload faster, better spread, and put out more damage. It's not arguable. And yes, I
have sunk a full health bb6 in a h39 with triples...once. But again, this is just one
situation. I do agree that MOST of the time a H39 with 16's is optimal.

H39 with trip 14.96s is food for anything above BB3 mate.

@Splid

I respect your opinions.

"I went from level 114 to 118 in the h39 with trips, being bored of the h44. Some players
may remember that from Yamato server. I named the h39 the L20 Project. And yes, it
pwned. "

That says more about how bad everyone else was, because that is a stupid setup and anyone
using it for serious leveling either plays with crap people or is just crap themselves.

As for the typical KM being useless debate, get a big BB room going and it is still the
SKILLED KM players who come out on top with the occasional L2 around and abouts. The fact
is, KM ships are still very good in BB rooms, you just require even more skill to use them
now. Anyone who complains about the H44 being bad (above level 110) is just a bad player
who doesn't understand how to play the game.

"----
KM ships are not fine in general. Everything is indeed stacked against you.

Yamato FL semifinal. In H39. Against a team foolish enough to bring no H39 of their own.

Can't touch this.

KM gunships are the best or the second best of their tier in all tiers but BB5. This is
not stacked against you. This is stacked for you."

There are not many more things as frustrating as fighting something with more range in a
line battle during a fleet game. In a strong line range is just fun.

With so many people concerned that KM will die and no one will ever play it, there are
plenty of players that see the value of kaisers in HAs that it will not die. KM is a
nation meant to be played in a team environment (all nations are but KM in my mind stands
out). CVs would be very difficult to play if they had to be on the front line, KM would
be difficult to play if you were the only BB in the slot. Stacked in a line fight, you've
got a mix of ships that if pushed, KM keeps the majority of its range, and lets the other
ships near it help.

The last person I met claiming he did good with the trip setup claimed he could average
180-200k a game with the setup. After 3 games and no game about 30k attack he went back
to the bismark to level his gunners to 91. Only funnier outcome I have seen was an SY
player using 110 guns and no scouts claiming he average 150k attack. Proceeded to get 0
attack that game because he was "blind". When asked what scouts are for I didn't see him
again for another day. Moral of those stories, Do not make claims you can not back up.

For me with KM the only really brutal parts of the playing was the gap from H44 to Kaiser.
Loved the Emden, Moltke, AD, Bismark and Opro, H39 was a blast, and Kaiser is a beast in
Fleet events/BB6 rooms. It is hard for me to judge nations as being easier than KM as I
spent probably near 8 months - a year playing KM before any other nation. Frankly by that
point I think I had learned more patience than with other nations as well as skills that
just make other nations easier.
