  • What's left for KM??

This is kinda a whine thread, but also a general question for everyone.
I put this here, because at first hand, there are fewer and fewer KM players every
day along with IJN, so, how do you foresee the KM/IJN future?

There is nothing special left for those nations in the big picture, at least on the BBs
line. SS and CVs are a complete different issue and they maybe competitive yet,
"""""maybe"""".

IJN still has torps, but nobody wins a GB/HA/whatever if it's not a kitta parade with
torps.
KM still has speed, so you can run away from the battle, which seems to be the only
use right now with the first glance of the new SN BB4&5, and still there is the BB6 to
be seen.

No armor, cottonballs firepower, range is slightly higher than the rest but the minimal
difference is compensated with the position of the most common BB5 guns
placement, you have to expose the complete transversal line for a good slingshot on
an H44, with catastrophic results due the lack of any armor.

I'm the onlyone thinking on this? I'm missing something? Consider all aspects, maybe
I'm too short to see the hidden KM potential, but so far I stand that there is
something wrong here.

Ah ok, gotcha. Thanks for the info. Might have to try that one day.

You trade off a good chunk of range sure. But I still think it's fun to have fast reload,
super high damage and shell count with a ship that can hit 44kts. You just have to play
differently. To put it simple, the H39 with 16's performs best with a lot of enemy ships. A
H39 with 14.96 trips will do best versus a single BB5 or versus a ship who's blind.

"With a high level crew the H39 is a blast with 14.96 trips."

I would assume the 16" would be better then with a higher lvl crew, and more fun.
IDK though, never tried H39 with the trips. I just assumed the 16" would give more
range and so be moe fun... though I guess the trips would hit like a train.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are not the double 16" more range? Wouldnt that be
best to play with the high lvl crew?

********

Yes dual 16Ls have more range.

"At any tier, from BB1 to 5, so far, there are no exploitable advantages for KM, but still a
long list of -very- exploitable disadvantages when facing a KM ship on the enemy line. "

********

Masc already really hit everything. BB1-3 rooms, KM range is very evident. H39 range is
rather clear as well, H44 can be played to use the range (maximize it) but most (including
myself) do not do it all that well. Part of the issue with KM ships is people using the
14.96" instead of the 11s and complain about the range. The trip 11Ls will give you your
range advantage (and is what was used by most before the buff on the 14.96". Its like
watching an h39 with trips complaining about range.
