  • Please someone help me!

I have a question...

Now I play Iowa since 2 months, I have excelent engys/reps/etc etc.

My gunners:

lvl 94 BVE (160 vets) base 11/12 RLD classed.

I still have a bad spread, while the ability is OK, they are classed on time, no problems.
But when Shooting the shells go around everywhere...

Now I end up with 10k attack a game, and IF i hit something..... like 3-4 shells.

What do I have to do? buy 12/11 BVE overvetted??

Because If i shoot right up north/south/west/east They do pretty-well, but sometimes the spread is worse, other time its perfect.
But if im in battle & navigate, and fire (like firing North-west) my spread is terrible.

So how do those Montys all have a nice spread?

Best classings are

for Main:

Rld Acc Rld or Rld Rld Acc

for AA:

acc rld rld or rld rld rld



Anyway the good news is you rld Capped 22-ish levels ago (If you had 160 vets then as well)

Change your armor to: 0.2 belt and bulge til before losing a knot. That is the basic setup for all USN Ships. There is no need for that much bulge... 40 knots is plenty of speed to dodge and run from subs. (which is about what you'll do if you take that extra weight off)

Rush in and out of range when attacking, Abusing the excellent firing arc of the Iowa allowing you to be almost perpendicular to the enemy with the slim profile of the ship, firing heading into range and fire again heading out of range.



Ok, so I have 160 vets on the gunners, so they should cap around 105?
And my armour is 0.2 belt and bulge till i lose a knot -1

Speed; 24/39
Buying 1 engy/rep now for monty.
Might get prem :D


I heard a good monty setup:

4 Engy 3 rep 1 scout
or 5 engy 2 rep 1 scout

which is best?

i think the problem is the rld rld rld issue... no matter if u think they are capped... they are firing at great rld stat but shitty acc... they will not ever cap acc (but they will fire quite good above lvl 100 to 105 for Iowa and 110 to 115 for monty... for Nebby they will fire good enough to "almost block" like US BB does at lvl 120)

US gunners should be classed Acc Acc Acc or maybe Acc Rld Acc... to have a good spread (which in the end is the key to have good damage per battle)

the other thing that may be happening is that u are not used to the ship... this will be happening to you every new bb you got... just a matter of time to you dominate it the way its supposed to...

And I'll tell jotabe to freaking give caps a good revision.

Of course its the old values, they raised it a bit since then, however even assuming a 10% raise, he nearly caps it with only his vets on his lowest gunners, and hit the old cap with only the vets. Now he has full xpert that aren't included here.

OLD CAP

4706*lvl+1000000 (thats the number I think changed.) so 4706*94+1 000 000 = 1 442 364

HIS LOWEST GUNNER

DispAbility * (4V+E) * ctot/cmax =TAbility

(Ctot/Cmax if full = 1. I'm assuming its the case)

2222* (158*4+0*1)*1=TAbility

(assuming 158 vets and full rookie since I have no xpert amount, and can't be arse to calculate exactly how many crew total USN lvl 94 gunners hold then)

1404304= TAbility


You need 18 xpert to hit the old cap on this one.


Your other gunners gives:1486968


Gunner 1 Tability (158 vets) : 1404304+(E*2222)
Gunner 2 TAbility (167 vets): 1486968 + (E*2226)

E=number of expert on each.

You can prolly finish the maths.

I'd need to go bother richardphat for the new values, I think he got them. But I'm 99,9% sure you are hitting that new cap.


So stop talking about the classing as crap, he hits his cap.

They are level 97 now, and my spread is pretty nice, last time i had 115k attack!!!!!

I might remove my T slots for 2 extra reps :P
40K Xp last time, and i get premium today (I hope).
AND i will buy expert packs to add more vets, so i hope those guys wil kick ...

Oh I just thought of something else,

with high angle (45 degree) guns, you need to aim slightly more ahead of the ship your firing at to land more shells in their general location, at 45 degrees it takes some time for the shells to land.

You wasted money by adding vets.

At any rate, give my BB guide a read, and LordKelvin's too. Both are available on ONF forums, mine is also in tips and tactics of this forum, stickied. See where you have an issue, observe other BB players who are doing well, and see what they are doing differently.

RLD-RLD-RLD ... has NO ROOM for ACC in that classing setup ...
always go rld-acc-rld for reload and acc-rld-acc for accuracy ...
you need to balance the growth a little by alternatly classing them

you have uber RELOAD gunners that spam shells all over the place ....since you gave them no ACCURACY stats

I BOUGHT EM AS RLD RLD RLD, AND I DIDNT KNOW IT WOULD MATTER.

the triple rld as AA gunners are in-demand sailors for US.

If you trade them for ac/rd whatever combo you might make a profit or even be able to get higher lvl gunners.

Or have some cash left over for a monty engineer.
