  • Why many CVs refuse to Scout.

1. This is the biggest reason for me, and a very common reason for other CVs I have spoken to. "PURE SPITE" .  yes that's right.  Because even when I did do it, there's always 1 or 2 BBs calling us "Noobs" and much less savory things because  there's still no vision or air-cover because my low level non wallet warriored fighters are burning wreckage for my efforts.

So out of "SPITE",  I refuse to scout at all when my own team starts hurling insults.  I really don't care if we loose and I die at this point.  Just as long as all the abnoctious kids go down with me. And its not just that game either.  I carry a grudge and continue to do it for several games, even all night because of little unsupervised children who cant keep there mouths shut.

At this point your best bet is to use your own scouts and push forward to visual range, because I really don't care if we all get slaughtered.  I'm just going to keep border humping and pushing bombers.

But amazingly, It only takes ONE polite request to get me to change my mind.  When I hear requests for CV support that DONT include the word "Noob"  or other profanity,  I start pushing fighters and attempting to cover the blind spots. Even tho I'm likely throwing planes against level 120 wallet warriors flying Boosted max vetted elite Wonder fighters, or  Heavy cruisers armed with  nothing but massively overpowered AA weapons that vaporize my guys in seconds.  a severe game imbalance IMO.

So next time, Certain people should try not acting like over indulged twelve year olds,  and perhaps you will see more fighter cover or scouting.

I know you know the answer to this ljsevern so not to looking to flame, but for those not knowing it is best to carry AA on BBs to shoot at planes over you. This will give a momentary lapse to allow your BB scout to be launched to scout the position properly which then helps your BB/CVs get fighters up across their own BB line quickly to help protect your scouts being over the opposing lines from fighters(not AA of course). As a CV player it does help having that scout for us CV's as well so we can spot bombers and takes them out while trying to protect your scouts. As for AA is cause the CV's to get an out of sync fighter launch operation thereby slowing us down to get another wave up. So this makes the team with the stronger AA win despite the fighter combat results. So goes to show even though another CV has higher level fighters does not guarantee a win for visual acuity.

Honestly, I have no problem avoiding AA from a single ship with fighters.

What people should realise is, the most efficient AA'ers are AA ships. The most efficient ships at scouting are CV's. The most efficient ships at killing ships are BB's (and subs, but we all know they are crazy overpowered).

That is why teamwork wins, and that is why there is such a huge issue in GB's. Because you literally are not allowed to play with your fleetmates unless you luckily get balanced with them.

LJ.... come on man! playing as a team with your fleet m8's would be cheating. How could another team possibly win agaist people actualy playing the game right....? sigh* come on now your just being silly. Heck you only really need 2 people to win a game anyway. 3 is better 2 BB and a CV. So much win with 3 competent players on a team using voice chat. (can we still use voice chat? seems kinda cheap to me).

On side note there is not many times when my fighters get killed by BB's AA you can pretty much fighter camp a BB as long as you want. If you really want to. Also fun to move your fighters away so they think they can launch their scout just to go kill it ^_^

Ideally you need a 3rd with PHH and a Sonar, but myself and Monarch troll GB's pretty well when on the same team.

I really would love some kind of game mode where you can switch fleetmates on your team at a cost of the other team having better ships, however, giving a slight exp bonus to the other team if they win (to offset the less exp available to them). I miss the blitz 4 vs 30 against the world games!

Monarch
Playing with a group on people that are on the same team and with TS or Vent against the usual collection of fish bait is just too unfair.

Much easier to just ban manual balancing rather than just dealing with the CS tickets or coding a game mode.

Maistral
Just had 6 games, had full sight on, and all losses due to retarded BBs.

Bluntly speaking, my fighters were EVERYWHERE. Killing enemy scouts, destroying enemy fighters so they themselves can scout, covering them from bombers, and all.

My BBs were all the "I DON'T WANT MY PAINT TO BE SCRATCHED" players. So you guys think people like those are worth scouting for?

I'm better off TBWing with crap exp gain than using FW with no exp gain at all.

Because in GB's, CV's are primarily in competition over who can get nine bombers up on one pilot and beach themselves on the north rocks the quickest.

WHY THE HELL IS THIS STILL UNLOCKED?

I prefer 10 fighters in the air spread by twos. Much larger scouting area, and I can snag a few scouts or bombers that are unwisely left in my line of sight.

I run the Malta with T4s and if there is absolutely no chance of me launching bombers; I'll use my 5.25" A guns to cut a hole in the camping fighters. I can't get them all, but I can get my planes out before the fighters regroup.

On the "why the hell is this still unlocked?" comment, check back a few pages. One of your buddies came through here and pruned the deadwood.

Cheers

Holy Cow. Now there's something you don't see at all anymore. A CV using his R slots for something other then Hedgehogging. It used to be the way to play 3 or 4 years ago, AA'ing CV's. Not sure why it's gone so much out of fashion of late, especially with KM, US, and IJN CV's. RN/MN I can understand, not sure about SN's, but on those others AA'ing is something those nations do really well. Yeah, I know, folks put repairmen/restorers/engineman on those R crew slots, BAH, seems a waste of a useful slot. Hedgehogs are nice, sure, but with the Self-TKing thing "fixed" making DC's usable again, I'm betting the need diminishes. Some AA CV's with heavy HE in the other bind slot would be nice to see again. Been a while.
