  • Getting CV Drivers back flying again - Discussion

Hi All,

While im feeling all proactive.

Calmly and rationally - What keeps you out of your CV?

How do we get you back in your CV playing again?

Again - Please keep this clear of speculation, insults. Everyone has their right to a
viewpoint or reason, debate it but do so with reason and back it up.

If not or you cant, then leave it

Yes no doubt this has been discussed to death, but is also a major issue in NF today
resulting in games taking too long to load etc. Yes I also know there is the CV wish list
thread.

This is a temporary quick fire solution suggestion thread - Keep it short and concise

Heres a couple for you

1) Crew death
2) Player abuse (bullying and insults)
3) TB's DB's shortened range
4) Locals need resolving (?)

Added (by community)
1) Torp/DB Damage review

Give fighters the sight range of DB's and slightly increase db/tb damage, which makes
carrying AA on your BB worthwhile.

Nice discussion... As a NFEU player I allready was wondering why there were that little
CV's on NFNA. This discussion makes it all clear.
On NFEU the problem isn't there anymore since they removed locals and introduced T4
planes. Allso high lvl CV players are very common on NFEU (with highlvl I consider all
with at least a bronze medal..)
About the crew kill rate, it just should be nerfed PERIOD. You can't expect players to pay
like $10 a week on vets just to replace losses. It might be fast money for a short while,
but in the long run SDE will loose more than they gain since people stop plsying CV's, and
later on people stop completely because GB with only BB's is no fun either.

If locals are not removed, at least they should be lvl capped. IMO it is completely absurt
that a lvl 60 FP owns a lvl100 FP. It's like putting H44 guns on a Gneisenau....

\o/ erad, I see my shells in your pic, flying from the right south corner :D
now I understand why you wanted a few aa ships.

The last 2 games I did in my doria, the enemy had a PCV spamming ftrs everywhere but never
controlling them nor even lower their altitude ! I never liked my aa so much ! ended with
6k of creds aaing and fighting bbs at the same time.

Make playing lower-level CV's fun. As it stands, if there's -any- CV on the opposing team
that's higher level than you, it becomes a horrible, tedious slaughter every time your
planes encounter theirs. That's it. If they're higher level, they win. BB's, at least, have a
smattering of a possibility of at -least- doing damage to a higher level BB. Heck, I've
killed higher level BB's in an Alaska and Nevada.

If you're in an Attacker, and an Essex's fighters stumble across yours, you can't do
much except write them off (Assuming you're using T1 like an idiot). Basically, it forces
CV1's, 2's, and even some 3's to use locals to stand -any- chance of being productive.

@snailgod: If you want more damage/sec, get a BB... CVs should not be about overall
damage, they can deal damage from a great distance and because of that, the time it takes
is fine. I agree though that TB damage should be revised, but DB damage is ok.

I think that the majority of the plane control system needs to be replaced/redone. For
example, after your TBs hit sea level after diving, you have to wait a second or two
before you can launch. Those 1-2 seconds are the difference between a hit and a dud.

Also, make locals' firepower either between T2-3, so that with control, they stand a good
chance against T3s, or slightly higher than T3s so that T3s stand a good chance against
them if controlled properly. Right now, the locals just bum rush any enemy plane in range
and shoot it down without the CV driver having to do much.

Also, increase DB/TB damage, or nerf AA in someway. BB shells are invulnerable to
everything (the benefit of BB over CVs), but they dish out damage much, much quicker and
more efficiently than CVs. Waiting one minute for your flight of 10 DBs to ready, sending
them to the enemy safely, and hitting the target should not result in a measly 30-40k
damage because the whole process takes a good bit of time (probably 3-4 minutes of care).
In that time, a BB can do much, much more damage. So either make it easier for planes to
get through and release their payload (having a Moltke spam AA shells and killing off your
bomber squadron is ridiculous), or increase their damage. It's sad that a out of a slight
of 10 TBs, in most cases, only 1 or 2 will actually do full damage. The other 8 or 9 are
busy breaking through bulge. It takes more planes in NF to kill a ship than in real-life,
but we can't launch nearly as many as real-life carriers can. I'm not saying that it
should be realistic, because NF is not, but it seems like we have the worst of both worlds
in this case.

I don't need you to fix, loading time, tb/dbs damage, nor anything close.

As a cv player i am willing to take all of these 'weakness-ess' in my stride.

But if you might...

fix this..

My number one concern is vet lost in air fights and etc,
reduce it if its possible. This thread is filled with ALL of the problems that CV users
face however some (especially this) is the utmost concern.

If sde/nf is truly looking at this problem. It would have been fixed long ago.

The CV abuse is getting insane. Whomever it is that bears the responsibility for making
the suggested changes better step up soon. The crew death is out of hand, the abuse is
going utterly unchecked and locals are being abused by high level CVs(mainly because they
want to bomb and don't care to give FC to abusive BBs). Fix it.
