  • Why many CVs refuse to Scout.

1. This is the biggest reason for me, and a very common reason for other CVs I have spoken to. "PURE SPITE" .  yes that's right.  Because even when I did do it, there's always 1 or 2 BBs calling us "Noobs" and much less savory things because  there's still no vision or air-cover because my low level non wallet warriored fighters are burning wreckage for my efforts.

So out of "SPITE",  I refuse to scout at all when my own team starts hurling insults.  I really don't care if we loose and I die at this point.  Just as long as all the abnoctious kids go down with me. And its not just that game either.  I carry a grudge and continue to do it for several games, even all night because of little unsupervised children who cant keep there mouths shut.

At this point your best bet is to use your own scouts and push forward to visual range, because I really don't care if we all get slaughtered.  I'm just going to keep border humping and pushing bombers.

But amazingly, It only takes ONE polite request to get me to change my mind.  When I hear requests for CV support that DONT include the word "Noob"  or other profanity,  I start pushing fighters and attempting to cover the blind spots. Even tho I'm likely throwing planes against level 120 wallet warriors flying Boosted max vetted elite Wonder fighters, or  Heavy cruisers armed with  nothing but massively overpowered AA weapons that vaporize my guys in seconds.  a severe game imbalance IMO.

So next time, Certain people should try not acting like over indulged twelve year olds,  and perhaps you will see more fighter cover or scouting.

Some can't spell when they are in rage mode. Maybe he was trying UK version spelling.

Anyway it was entertaining.

whats spite ?

anyway i do agree its quite annoying with bbs whining and blaming all cvs when lets say alot of games when ive been vs pcv's etc with superior fighters alone with our teams cv5s pcvs etc is failing horribly while im doing decently and then the team ofcourse always says fail cvs as a whole wich kind of annoys me... but oh well its the internets

also have u ever tought the reason why they say fail cvs to you is because you refuse to help ? as it sounds like here if anyone says even a single bad thing

I don't want you to scout. I want you to shoot down enemy fighters so I can scout. And, I want you to shoot down enemy bombers so I can focus on the enemy instead of dodging.

If CVs kept the enemy blind and I kept the enemy scouted, I could win 99% of the time.

I would like to win. If CVs don't want to win, that's fine. However, I am going to question why you play if you don't want to win.

Also, I shouldn't have to ask for fighter support. CVs don't ask me to go kill enemy BBs.

if only every bb player knew how to use their scouts

In GB, all I ask is a CV player to be competent. If you bomb, don't auto bomb and miss CL's.

If you send fighters, don't have them circling yourself; If we aren't having trouble with sight, then kill stuff scouting us and bombers. If we are, send them to scout.

If you have T5 scouts on your CV, then great.

The Number 1 reason why CV players don't scout is because they don't get personal exp for doing so. Saying otherwise is dumb. If you had exp for scouting (other than win bonus), you would find that CV gameplay improves.

LJ has a point but to take it further if I may. The game dynamics doesn't enforce increasing XP for doing things that help improve your teams chances to win. The code is far to simple for this from recent GM explainations. The better thing used to be the case in years gone by is many fleets would train there players to improve there play both in BB and CV play to coordinate effective strategies to win the game. Far too many Fleets do not do so which is the reasoning many have issues not only playing the game effectively but ranting arrogant slanders at other fleets. This activity was highly frowned upon by CO's of Fleets and TNF to the point players were expelled from fleets and the game bans extensively. If only we can go back to such days the game play of the entire community would improve once again, but only likely if current leaders try to steer clear of the newer generation of gamers thwart such progress from returning.

On a Technical note of the game it takes 8 seconds to load a scout clicking it off the deck lets say 2 seconds. Move down range click and fly around 20 seconds to get to battle line. That is 30 seconds to do so.

Now for the CV loading let's say 3 Fighters to do the same scouting 12 second load for T3's times 3 planes is usually min that's 12 x 3 = 36 seconds plus 20 second flight time is 36+20 = 56 seconds plus the 2 second load/click 56+2= 58 seconds. So 58 seconds for a CV to scout vs. 30 seconds for BB to scout that is approximately 2x the time to scout an area. This is a very important note that BB players in a room should know and don’t realize and lame others.

Now this is negating fighters over the BB that complicates matters for this discussion an entirely new topic so let's stay on point.

‘Don’t expect perfection from others, if you can’t even perfect yourself.’

Well when i was still CVing on MO I would love sending up crappy T1 fighters they make perfect scouts and kill other scouts and can somewhere provide fg cover, however I havent been in game for a while but if based on tons of prior XP I can easily say this is a very very very old discussion and as a CV driver most people are BB or SS drivers as main or 1st grinds so the CV is a money making pit and really most people dont want to fork out the tons of experts and vets needed just on a single pilot to make the really effective.
