  • NERF HEDGEHOGS

i think just about every player in Navyfield is getting tired of getting killed by Hedgehogs........When theyre in a Surface Ship.
 i Believe Hedgehogs should be nerfed so that heir damage to ships on the surface is  next to nothing (10 dmg  / HH)
And that Hedgehogs should be banned from Blitz..... Hedgehogs are Anti Sub weapons.
 so obviously there is no need for them in a Game type that doesnt have Subs.

I'm sure im not the only one getting a little tired of Hedgehogs, I just wanted to try and get the Ball rolling on the topic
feel free to post any more ideas on the matter.

they should just be removed from blitz and damage to surafce damage should do near nothin but SDE makes money off PHH they wont change it :( subs arent OP ASW is

About 40% of the time I play with my KM SS4. I simply like playing sub, instead of BB.

Do I have a problem with Hedgehogs? Yes. I agree, the surface damage to surfaced ships (not just SS) is ridiculous. I have no complaints against them for submerged SS. It is an effective defensive weapon. It should not be considered an offensive weapon system.

Here is what I recommend:

1) Remove regular hedge hogs as a weapon system
2) Keep Premium hedge hogs as a weapon system
3) Require CAs to carry regular guns on T Slots for GB2 ("The Mandel Rule")
4) Reduce surface ship impact to damage no greater than HE=60-75...or lower
5) Increase fuse timing to equal sink depth of sub (.4 - .7 seconds)
6) Ships cannot enter Blitzkrieg with HH mounted

If players want to sink surface ships with PHH, then let them pay for the weapon system. It doesn't matter to me when I am being clobbered by HH whether they are regular HH or PHH. I hate them period. But I do recognize their value in ASW and do not recommend they be deleted, just changed.

To me, the only real ASW weapons are depth charges and torpedoes, but I accept HH as a new weapon system and have adapted tactics to defend myself against them.

The main complaint is the damage to sufaced ships. HH should be mini-depth charges, not cluster bombs.

if you have a problem by being hit with HH while your in a surface ship then let me tell you the problem is you.

SS and HH are obviously balanced because i tested them and:

HH can punch through 10 inch of UK L2 belt
SS can punch through any 255 bulge

Therefore they are completely balanced!

HH damaging surface ships like they do is the dumbest thing I've seen in this game, and I regularly see ships pass right through each other as if they're ghosts. It's a glaring fault I noticed on my first day.

Lack of collision might be considered dumb, clouds obscuring our vision of surface ships is definitely dumb (not smoke, but clouds high in the sky), but HH nuking surface ships is the dumbest, like they're some sort of supergun.

HH are fine if you let some one with them get in range of you with hh its your fault that your aim sucks

its not just me a ship going 70 knots and turning left and right is hard to hit and ine 2 to 4 reloads he is almost in range in blitz you dont have guns that one shot ships as i belive 8 inche shells do like 700 and you have a bad ir decent spread

I think for an ss simply making it to the enemy line is skillful achievement. They go up against torp walls, anti ss dd's, tbs, and bb salvos, and they are usually the tip of the spear, not to mention the hazards of friendly noob torps and hh.

Also, if the ss gets the bb in its kill zone, I think its a fail on the part of the bb's team and the bb player for not scouting and reporting ss strength and movement and acting accordingly. Too many bb's getting into bb vs bb salvo battles and forget to take inventory of what else is going on, hence tk's and ss "surprise".
