This is to be used only to suggest changes.

There have been many, many, omg MANY Sub suggestion threads and topics, so here is the idea.

You guys all pick some of the concepts, ideas buffs nerfs etc from all the other threads
and add them here.

While you are welcome to discuss why a change would or would not work, keep it to a
logical and clear discussion.

No - "you are only a BB whinner"
No - "You are bias sub driver" in fact any insults will have their post hidden

Make your point - Make it clearly, make it once - anything else will be thermonuked as
will all other sub threads from here on in really.

Tell SDE what you want to see from Subs and sub play with BB play etc for the future

I'll keep checking in and see what you guys have come up with, there is some brilliant
ideas I have read thus far and look forward to them all in one thread and see where it
progresses, hopefully to a positive conclusion where, at least most of the community will
be happy with the changes (if any)

How about letting subs load fake chaff? Basically, if someone launches torps and hits u, u
launch the fake chaff that makes the death animation. The smarter ships will know you're
still there, but if its timed right (ie someone else dies at the exact moment) u might
have a chance

Also I now agree with the posts suggesting that the depth charges require an
longer fuse length.

No, because balance in this game is like tuning an instrument while playing in a large
ensemble. You constantly have to make small adjustments during playing to remain on or
relatively close to in-tune. Just because you tuned before you played or right after the
first song doesn't mean that you can ignore it for the remainder of the performance.

In balancing ships, you need to constantly tweak its performance to fit in with its tier
and with the rest of the ships; you can't do one change in the beginning and forget about it.

I enjoy ASW and use destroyers to do such even though I've got an BO who can use
ships farther along the ship tree.

I would like to see my destroyer escorts with hedgehogs on them actually use them
(preferably only use them) against submerged submarines that it can see. I'm for
making the hedgehogs less effective against surface ships so that they remain an
ASW weapon also.

Also would be nice to be able to pack enough hedgehogs in some destroyers
comparable to the normal depth charges for example an Q class on its T's can pack
an combined 19 regular depth charges or pack 20 hedgehog depth charges (thats
four salvos) which sounds alright about the same and the range ability that is
gained with the hedgehogs is compensated with thier weakness compared to the
regular depth charges. In an O class however you can pack 17 regular depth
charges but only 5 hedgehog depth charges (an single salvo) should be more like 15
(three salvos). I cannot remember what the ammunition situation is like with the L or
Tribal classes though.

Also an interesting ASW game type would be nice in my opinion maybe an few
computer controlled freighters to be escorted by the destroyers for an number of
minutes with the submarines attempting to sink the freighters comes to mind as an
obvious scenario.

Well of course it's pointless. The devs just do whatever they damn well please.

It's why I don't buy anything from their store anymore.

HH Range needs to be decreased to the range of an average sub long range
torpedo so subs have a chance against the swarm of ASW.

I wouled have to say, prolly sub fanatics spamed Support with tickets and ther
*briliant ideas*.....and since we know how SDE rolls...it's not suprising something
like this happens.


it's a shame thoe..this topic has dozens and dozens of GOOD suggestion both sub
only and sub nation wise....I have to say I am a lil disapointed by SDE's
patch...however it was expected.

Yup, unfortunatly.

We've got a lot of good ideas in this thread....but that obviously doesn't matter to
anyone in control :/

Basically, this thread is completely pointless and SDE is paying absolutely no attention
to it.

It might as well be de-stickied and allowed to die with the rest of the suggestions.
