Trees (to large to post, copy paste into your browser)
*ignore French and Italian DD lines, they are being changed
France - http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/Rengokuy/FrenchTree.jpg
Italy - http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/Rengokuy/ItalyTree.jpg
Russia - http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/Rengokuy/RussiaTree.jpg

*Updating ships to match the trees
Edit - Richelieu remodel to Jean Bart, not Gascagone
Edit - Bearn remodel to Joffre (as they have same capacity, one just trades
armor/armament
for speed)

-for people who want to know the capabilities of the guns, nearly all are found on
this website http://www.navweaps.com/

(boring intro section, scroll past to get to the ships and pretty pictures)
Short and Sweet, the French and Italians had good strong navies during WWII.
Both would be workable into the current game, ideally as their own nation, using
their own crews.

The French Navy would be a speedy one at that. Range would be rather long,
either equal to or a bit farther than most german guns at level. French DD's will be
some of the best in game, each with high damaging, fast firing guns. CL's and CA's
would be fast hard hitters that don't present much of a target, but they will be very
vulnrable to shell fire as they didn't mount much armor, a problem remidied in the
BB's. The French carriers would all be rather slow, their aircraft typical until higher
levels. BB's would all be above average, with long firing guns. (don't let the PBB
Dunkerque fool you, they had much better range than that)
Richelieu's guns had a longer range than the Iowa's.
All battleships would be capable of defending themselves from aircraft as well.

As for the Italian Navy, it would be a nation of Cruisers and AA guns. Heavy and Light
Cruisers would be the strongest of any nation in the game. DD's would be a trick to
use. All would have few mounts (usually only 2 or 3) but remain the same size as
other nations DD's. BB's would be typical until higher levels when they improve
drastically. Italian Carriers would be tend to have a little less plane space than their
counterparts, but be able to equip much heavier armament. Italian guns in general
had very long ranges, even over german guns. This was achieved at the grave price
of short barrel lives. The FCS system was very effective, tight salvos are to be
expected. Armor would be rated in giving about 20% stronger than the USN armor.

The Russian navy. Well, they will be very interesting indeed. Right from the beginning
they get very fast destroyers with considerably heavy armament. Russian cruisers
will be a bit more difficult to use. Their armament usually lighter than ships of the
same weight, their only advantages being tight salvos and small profiles. The
Russian battleships will be, for lack of better words, terrors to fight. The early on
ones based of the Gangut class, they are small targets with a lot of guns, the only
disadvantage being lack of AA defense, a problem remedied at the BB4 and 5 level,
the ships here built in practice with current US ones (iowa and montana). Even their
aircraft carriers are well armed, each making good speed and decent capacity. As for
their aircrafts, figters will be good, but bombs and torpedoes relativily weak.

To anyone with a CV, do they currently use only carrier borne planes on the CVs or did
they take land based planes and put them on the Carriers?

*Finished French Float planes (do I need another scout?) Also, there are no dive bombers,
although the Latecoere Late can carry bombs, I dont think Floatplanes were ever really
used as dive bombers. (I have found this plane LeO H-257. But only its name and that it
could act as a bomber. Other sources list it, but there is not information on it.) This
will complete the Commadant Teste. Making her an 100% possible ship. With the Commadant
Teste in, the French will have a sufficient amount of Aircraft carriers to make a ship tree.

I don't think I mentioned it, but the French fleet will not really be a powerhouse fleet.
At least in tearms of raw power. The ships will compliment each other, and need to work in
conjunction with other ships to be successful. EX. The Commadant testel Can be equiped
with 26 Torpedo Bombers, but it can also be equiped with a mixture of scouts and and TB or
just scouts. It will require a little bit of self sacrafice by the player (but in clanwars
and harbor assualt) one ship will be able to provide complete scout cover. Another
example is the Dunkerque and the Le Hardi. 2 or more Le Hardi class escort the Dunkerque,
protecting it from smaller ships so the Dunkerque only has to focus on other large ones.
They are all fast ships and move well together. Once again its not as fun for the DDs to
follow the Dunkerque around, but It provides a vital role. Once again this will proably
only truely show in Harbor Assualt and Clan was, but it still brings a tatical edge to the
game, in the sense that each ship has a specific job, rather than a free for all.

Heres a bit more on Seaplane Tenders, Every fleet should get them. (Especially the
Japanese) I may end up making this into a whole seperate topic, but for now they just
support my suggestion.

IJN Akitsushima Flying-boat Tender 4650t 19knots
Armament - 4 5in, 10 25mm Armor - None
It carried a flying boat!!! (see below) rather beastly to say the least. Only draw back is
only carried one, so will require a very tatical player to use it effectively.

Kawanishi H8K 'Emily'
Five 20mm cannon in power-operated forward, ventral and tail positions
Three 7.7 mm machine-guns manually aimed from beam and ventral rear windows
Up to 4,400 lb of bombs or torpedoes carried under wings

Both seem like good books (and both make me wish I had a job, sigh) Aircraft is something
I just don't have the time to research (though it'd proably be easier)

Barely semi-related

2-book series on Soviet aircraft from WW2.

Obviously, the single-engine fighters volume is where you would get info on the Yak-
3. It's worth getting both if you have any need for a resource on Soviet WW2
aircraft, which is generally more difficult to find that German, Japanese, and Western
Allied aircraft data.

Have already looked into it (any excuse not to study) But thank you, they so seem like
impressive aircraft (how they would stack to other nations, Im not sure though)
